8 Days Elephant Tracking

- this is a basic itinerary, ready to be adjusted according to client's ideas and requirements
- the order of individual activities in each destination will be adjusted on-site, depending on the situation

Arrival

The guests arrive in from Livingstone (Zambia), Vicfalls (Zimbabwe), or Kasane international airport. If you arrive in at Maun international airport, that's when you will start from Kazikini - going north, as described in this itinerary. If you arrive in from Zambia or Zimbabwe, then you will start from the opposite direction at Mwandi view camp along the Chobe river front.

In the point of arrival, you are welcomed by your expedition safari guide. He will provide you with nice smile, cool face towels and chilled drinking water for each guest.

The expedition guide will brief you about where you will be heading next for your experience in the bush, but before that you will have to drive around the town to buy personal things you did not bring from home, like sunglasses, sunblock and so on, then drive to your first destination.

Activities in camp / lodges

On your arrival to the camp, you will be welcomed by friendly staff, who will sing for you. You’ll help the staff with bags identification, and they will take it to your rooms. The waiter or waitress shall provide you with a nice chilled lemonade, while the camp manager and guide will explain the camp orientation.

At 3:30 pm, all guests shall meet at the main lodge for high tea, then head out for a nature drive to explore the afternoon. Dinner is served between 7:00/7:30 pm, after dinner all guests sit at a fireplace to get the briefing about the following day.

This will be your time to interact with other guests and stuff in camp and have drinks of your own choices, then retire to bed. The following morning all guests will be waked up at 05:00 am, and walk to the front at 05:30 for full English breakfast.

Guests will go out for a walking safari at 06:00 am. Remember - the mission for this safari is to first find the track of a well grown elephant, identify the track and follow it, until you locate or find the elephant. The guide or photo host will explain all the necessary angles on where to take a picture at. The main idea is to find the subject, which is the elephant, take pictures, and leave the sighting without the elephant would ever realize that you were there.

You will start very early in the morning to use the golden light of that morning, when it is still soft, and head back to camp just before it get very hot. After branch, all guests will be provided with water for shower. High tea is going to be served at 3:30 pm, then you’ll go out for a nature drive with a safari Jeep to explore the afternoon and look out for more animals, birds, and beautiful landscapes. Sundowner will follow after the drive, and finally the dinner at 7:00/7:30 pm.

Day 1,2 – Kazikini / Tuskers wilderness camp

After your arrival to the camp, you’ll enjoy the activities described. You will stay in the camp for 2 nights, then drive out to Khwai.

Day 3,4 – Khwai

In Khwai, you will stay for 2 nights. You’ll have packed lunch somewhere on the road to Khwai and arrive in the late afternoon (it's a full day drive to Khwai). In the morning, all guests will be awakened at the same time, have breakfast and go out for a nature walk for the same purpose, and come back to camp to pick the trailer.

Day 5,6 - Thobolo camp (Savuti)

After Khwai, you’ll to drive to the Thobolo camp, where you will stay for 2 nights doing the same activities. Then you’ll drive to the Mwandi view.

Day 7 - Mwandi view

You’ll stay in Mwandi view for the last night, then drive to your target destination in the following day.

Day 8 - End of safari.

You are going to enjoy full English breakfast and then depart to the target airport, which can be either in Zambia (Livingstone), Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls) or Maun airport, to connect with either air Botswana, SA airlink or other flight connection or your following program in Africa.
